    Description

    Hola!

Our names are Julissa y Noah and we are clinical social workers and sexuality therapists in Delaware.  My clinical focus surrounds the undocumented Spanish speaking community, the LGBTQIA community, and victims of human trafficking.  I have over 33 years of advocacy and social justice work in Delaware - working to protect our most vulnerable communities.  I have been named two years in a row as one of Delaware's most influential in the area of social justice and advocacy.

My son, Noah specializes in reproductive health and is an expert in transgender mental health.  He also is the author of the first and only legal transition guide for Trans residents in Delaware.

Together, we founded Orgullo Delaware, a clinical platform that provides therapy and resources to LGBTQIA-identified Latines and their families.  Our organization focuses on finding access to safe hormones for our undocumented Trans community, educating orgs and medical professionals on LGBTQIA care, and working with the Governor's office and Delaware legislators on policies that will protect and enhance the lives of LGBTQIA-identified Delawareans.

In partnership with other orgs, Orgullo Delaware has also launched six new initiatives :

La Rogative Project - Partnering with Point to Pride to bring gender affirming wear such as chest binders and other sexuality protective needs to Puerto Rico ( https://www.pointofpride.org/)

El Armario 302 - Partnering with Phoenix Textile Recycling to have the first free clothing closet for the Trans and non-binary community in Delaware.   ( https://www.phoenixusedclothing.online/ )

Arcoiris Legal - Arcoiris Legal will provide probono legal consultation to the LGBTQIA community by lawyers who are also part of the community.

Cocina 943 -  Partnering up with Delaware restaurants and markets to provide meals to those healing from gender affirming surgery.

El Cine - Monthly film discussion; films related to Latinx sexuality and culture.

Orgullo Cafe - Monthly social meet up for LGBTQIA-identified Latines

While we serve all in the LGBT+ community, Orgull Delaware's heavily advocates for the rights of the Trans community.  Under constant attack, the Transgender community is so marginalized, underrepresented, and discriminated against throughout this country.  We are very fortunate to be in a state that is passionate about protecting LGBT+ rights but there are still gaps in direct services for this community.  This is why Noah and I have created very unique initiatives to help fill in the gaps for the Trans community in DE.

    Muchisimas gracias!

    Juls y Noah
