Formed in 2007 by Jason Nodler and Tamarie Cooper, The Catastrophic Theatre is Houston’s premier avant-garde theatre, presenting audiences with an eclectic repertoire of challenging, innovative, often experimental work that can't be seen anywhere else in the country. The theatre has produced 86 plays, including 42 original works.

Its new works and innovative partnerships have dawn acclaim in local, national, and international theatre, music, literary, visual art, and even sports media, including American Theatre, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Theatre Journal, Paste Magazine, NME, Art in America, and even NBA-TV, helping to bring attention to Houston’s vibrant art scene.
