Since 2006, LGBT employee networks have been actively committed to professionalizing their workplace networking activities. Their work provides important support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, queer, and intersex people in the workplace. At the same time, professional LGBT networks also deliver added value for the company. They demonstrably strengthen the business case for diversity through their activities within their own company, and through their collaboration with other networks. Because sexual orientation and gender identity are relevant in the workplace, these networks set up PROUT AT WORK to increase the visibility and raise the profile of LGBT topics at the workplace, helping to make them accepted parts of everyday life.
