The Outdoor Artist Collective (OAC) is a group of artists bridging nature, art, and community through collaborative action.
Dedicated to the idea of love being a more powerful motivator than fear, OAC seeks to foster strong, long-lasting connections with our environment by celebrating the immense value of the creative mind.
OAC operates as a federally incorporated non-profit organization, with societies in British Columbia and Quebec.
A primary annual activity of OAC is the Sima Festival; Wintering Together.
Sima Festival is a winter celebration that uses art, community engagement, and environmental advocacy to spark meaningful change.
Through performances, workshops, gatherings, artistic events and outdoor activities focused on local issues and creative expression, Sima brings communities together to address what matters most to them, and their environment.
Upholding winter as a time for introspection and reconnection, this event uplifts individuals and communities as environmental leaders by placing immense value on their lived experience of the territory.
Sima is centered on building community during the darkest months of the year to drive meaningful slow-change for a more interconnected and resilient future.
Our vision
To strengthen community bonds, encouraging reflection and action for meaningful and long-term social and environmental change.
Our mission
We do so by reconnecting to our winters as spaces that foster introspection and creative diversity.
