Jesse Maclaine began singing before she could speak, thanks to her Mother and Grandmother who were both very talented singers. Jesse’s first solo vocal performance was in her preschool holiday concert (1979) and she had a plethora of choir, acting and dance classes throughout elementary and high school. In the 7th grade she started private lessons for voice, piano, ballet, acting and musical theatre. She continued her Arts focus at Florida State University then relocated to study Jazz immersively and quickly launched her career as a professional musician in New Orleans (1995-2002). Colorado was calling with many wonderful new musical opportunities in 2002 and so Jesse found her permanent home in Denver with her husband and a menagerie of cats and dogs. In 2014, she decided to attend the University of Colorado and in 2017, she earned her BA in Music, Psychology, and Women's Studies. With more than 25 years in the music business, Jesse’s thriving and ever evolving career as a performer, composer, recording artist, and music producer informs her teaching style and empowers her to explore a wide range of topics with her students.

“I provide instruction in voice, piano, music theory, composition, songwriting, improvisation, acting, public speaking and performance techniques. Lessons can focus on classical, musical theater, jazz, blues, pop, rock, folk, country, funk, world music, poetry, monologues or speeches. Every individual is unique and I utilize multiple mental and physical techniques to help students fully realize their musical abilities.

My broad range of experience and interest in many types of music and media means we can study anything you want. You will find I am open minded, well rounded, intelligent, light hearted, compassionate, intuitive, highly skilled and lots of fun! Lessons can be intensive or casual, depending upon your time commitment and goals. I customize each lesson to highlight and expand my student’s skills, inspire their pursuit of knowledge, deepen self awareness, and optimize potential.
