MacAdamia Dog Training

MacAdamia Dog Training, led by Lisa MacAdam, a trainer and dog sport enthusiast, offers a unique blend of rewards-based and force-free training techniques. We reinforce these methods with enrichment activities to foster well-rounded canine citizens. Our specialty lies in crafting strong foundational skills for puppies that extend beyond obedience - we focus on essential social skills, bonding with pet parents, and navigating the complexities of our human society allowing you to truly create a fulfilling life built on trust, joy and understanding.

Situated in Edmonton, Alberta, we provide in-person and virtual training services to dog owners around the world. While our focus is on puppies, we also assist older dogs who may have missed out on early training. At MacAdamia Dog Training, we don't just train your dog - we teach you, the pet parent, effective communication techniques to understand and connect with your furry friend on a deeper level. Through our tailored private lessons, we're committed to supporting you and your pet in developing a nurturing, joyful, and respectful relationship.

Our private sessions, whether in person or virtual, are tailored specifically to your puppy’s personality, needs and your lifestyle and are not timed - they are as long or short as needed and you have access to your trainer between sessions to ensure you are getting the support you need to help raise your puppy well.

While we specialize in puppy raising, many older dogs did not get the foundational skills they needed, and it’s not too late. We can help with these dogs as well.

Some of the areas that we help most often with are:

Potty training
Appropriate chewing
Good greetings
Settling & being alone
Sleep training
Puppy biting
Jumping
Child & puppy management
Leash skills
Mental and physical exercise
