Experience Auckland's living history. Wander through a Fencible early settler's village as it looked in the mid to late 1800's. Explore heritage buildings filled with authentic furniture and textiles and see how people lived in early Auckland. See the general store, old school house, the court house, raupo huts, and the sod cottage, as well as the printing press, friendly chickens, and ducks in the village pond. All surrounded by attractive heritage gardens.
The village comes to life on the third Sunday of every month, where costumed characters inhabit the cottages. There is a venue available for weddings. There is free parking, accessible entry, and a cafe on site. Garden seeds and gifts are available from the beautiful museum shop.
