Hocken Collections is a research library, archive, and art gallery based at the University of Otago Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka in Ōtepoti Dunedin. Hocken's collections celebrate the histories, cultures and natural environments of Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific and Antarctica with special emphasis on southern New Zealand. The collections include archives, books, drawings, journals, maps, music and film, newspapers, paintings, photographs and posters, dating from the seventeenth century to the present day. It serves the faculty and students of the University, the city and its diverse communities, and is open to all researchers and exhibition visitors.
