OUTfest is a celebration of the LGBT+ community and their allies in Taranaki. It is a chance to socialise, learn, educate, unite, and be proud of the people we are and unapologetically be out and open as our true, unique selves. Youth events, workshops, comedy nights, shows, dancing will all be included in the inaugural 2021 festival as well as holding events regularly throughout the year that will help fundraise for future celebrations.
OUTfest is a branch of Flash Mob Entertainment, Taranaki’s premier entertainment and events manager who have for seven years have focussed on LGBT+ inclusion and education and produced sell out events with a strong theme of acceptance and visibility.
Flash Mob Entertainment’s owner/director, Sunita Torrance, recently won a medal in the 2021 NZ Kiwibank Local Hero Awards for her activism and advocacy for the LGBT+ community in Taranaki and with this made the decision to create a much needed and anticipated series of events for all of the rainbow community with plenty of focus on local youth.
