I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and proud to offer a welcoming and affirming lactation practice dedicated to supporting all families, especially those in the gay and queer communities, on their bodyfeeding and infant nutrition journeys. My approach is evidence-based, judgment-free, and centered entirely on your family's unique goals and circumstances.
📍 My Service Options
I offer flexible care to meet you where you are:
• Maplewood Office Visits: Convenient, in-person consultations in my private, comfortable Maplewood office space for comprehensive hands-on support.
• Telehealth Consultations: Secure, virtual support available from the comfort of your home, perfect for follow-up care, pumping help, or general questions (available to all NJ residents).
• Limited Home Visits: Hands-on support is available in your home within the Maplewood area and surrounding towns, allowing me to assess feeding in your natural environment.
💖 My Specialized & Inclusive Services
I am experienced in supporting the diverse ways queer families nourish their children, using affirming language (like chestfeeding and bodyfeeding) throughout my care. My services include:
• Induced Lactation & Relactation: I provide expert support for non-gestational parents, including guidance on the Newman-Goldfarb Protocols, medication considerations, and managing the process of building a milk supply.
• Gestational Parent Support: I offer comprehensive help with common feeding challenges such as latch difficulties, painful feeding, engorgement, mastitis prevention, and low/oversupply management.
• Chest/Breast/Bodyfeeding & Pumping: I create personalized plans for direct feeding, exclusive pumping, combination feeding, and transitioning back to work or school. I offer precise flange sizing and pump troubleshooting.
• Infant Feeding Assessment: I perform detailed weighted feeds, oral anatomy assessments, and provide guidance on infant cues and behaviors to ensure your baby is thriving.
• Prenatal Education: I teach private and inclusive classes for expecting parents to help you create a feeding plan that aligns with your family structure and goals before the baby arrives.
• Weaning & Transitioning: I offer compassionate support for parents who are ready to transition away from chest/bodyfeeding, whether partially or fully.
✨ My Commitment to the Queer Community
I understand that feeding goals can be complex and deeply personal for queer families. My practice is founded on cultural humility and a commitment to:
• Using your correct pronouns and affirming your gender identity.
• Respecting your family's chosen terminology for feeding.
• Providing supportive care for trans and non-binary parents engaging in chestfeeding/bodyfeeding.
I look forward to helping you find confidence and comfort in nourishing your baby, on your terms.
