We are a public heritage hub, who are duty bound by our association membership to Museums Aotearoa, to be welcoming of all peoples, and to uphold Te Tiriti O Waitangi or the Treaty of Waitangi, as part of our signing up to their Professional Standards and Code of Ethics. Furthermore, our Heritage Hub manager is part of the LGBTQI+ Community themselves. As well as this, both they and other volunteers often on site, also have whānau or family who identify as LGBTQI+ too. This is a very safe space to take refuge.
