The importance of being visual
It’s important you show you are a safe space in some way so the LGBTQI+ community (and wider community) don’t have guess or ask if you’re a safe space or not. There are many ways to do it, and it doesn’t have to cost a lot.
One of easiest ways is to create safe space signage, for example, a poster or window sticker. The Safe Space Alliance provides free print ready files for you to print to help make things visual such as postcards, stickers, posters, and signs.
You can also be visual through online channels such as your website, email signature, and/or social media channels. In addition to helping people identify safe spaces, being visual through media channels may help grow acceptance for the LGBTQI+ community as identified by GLAAD.
We provide free digital assets for your online channels as required including a digital badge for your website.
